Erna Sulistyowati, Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) for the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), presented an award to the Tax Center of Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta. The award was accepted by UKDW Rector, Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., on Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta during the Appreciation and Award Night for Taxpayers and Stakeholders within the DJP DIY Regional Office.
The event reaffirmed a collective commitment to using taxes as a critical tool for supporting development and building a stronger, more dignified Indonesia. It was a gesture of gratitude and recognition for taxpayers and stakeholders who have contributed to the nation’s progress and welfare. Paying taxes is seen as a reflection of noble character and dedication to the country.
Erna Sulistyowati highlighted the event’s theme, “Pahargyan Paramarta, Paos Srana Manuju Kerta, Sinergi Hanggayuh Hayuning Bongso,” which underscores that compliance with tax obligations is a testament to virtue and love for the Motherland.
“We are honoring the Governor of DIY, the DIY Regional Government, Regional Heads, Vertical Unit Leaders, Heads of Related Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), Rectors from Tax Centers, Associations, Influencers, and Media Partner Leaders,” Sulistyowati said. She expressed hope that support, synergy, and collaboration would continue to improve and become more harmonious.
Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih expressed gratitude and honor for the recognition from the DJP DIY Regional Office. She attributed the award to the hard work and commitment of the entire UKDW Tax Center team, which has excelled in providing tax education and services to UKDW staff and the broader community. This achievement also reflects the strong support of the UKDW academic community and effective collaboration with DJP DIY.
“This award strengthens our resolve to continue innovating and contributing to increasing tax awareness and compliance in Indonesia.
