UKDW Receives Two Ambulance Units from Pieter Tanuri to Strengthen Services

Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) has received two ambulance units from businessman Pieter Tanuri, Commissioner of PT ESSA Industries Indonesia Tbk. The handover was carried out through his representative, Dr. Ir. Kartika Dianningsih Antono, M.M., on Friday (April 24, 2026), at the Koinonia Auditorium courtyard of UKDW.
The donation is intended to support and enhance the services of UKDW’s Faculty of Medicine. It is also directed toward assisting the faculty as it prepares for the development of Duta Wacana Hospital.
The university received two ambulance units: one designated for patient transport and another equipped for both patient and mortuary services, complete with a stainless-steel stretcher. Both vehicles are Suzuki APV GX units, ready to support healthcare operations.
Kartika Dianningsih Antono emphasized that the contribution reflects a commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services. She noted that adequate ambulance facilities will help medical education institutions improve both the speed and quality of services provided to the community.
On the occasion, she also called on all parties to maintain a wise and constructive attitude in facing challenges. “In times of crisis, we should not blame one another. Instead, we need to pray for wisdom from God so we can make the right decisions,” she said.
Meanwhile, the UKDW rectorate welcomed the support and confirmed that the ambulances will be utilized to strengthen supporting facilities within the Faculty of Medicine. With the addition of these units, the faculty is expected to further enhance its readiness to deliver responsive, effective, and community-oriented healthcare services.
