UKDW Confers Degrees on 189 Graduates, Preparing Future Leaders for Indonesia Emas 2045
Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) held its May 2026 Graduation Ceremony for undergraduate and postgraduate students on May 16, 2026, at the Koinonia Auditorium. A total of 189 graduates were conferred degrees, consisting of 163 undergraduate and 26 postgraduate students.
UKDW Rector Dr.-Ing. Wiyatingsih, S.T., M.T., emphasized the important role of university graduates in responding to the challenges of a rapidly changing world while contributing to the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia 2045), the nation’s long-term vision for development and prosperity.
“Today is not the end of your journey, but the beginning of a new chapter in which you will take on meaningful roles in society and the professional world,” she said.
She expressed her hope that UKDW graduates would become outstanding individuals who are not only career-oriented but also committed to serving society and addressing social challenges. According to her, UKDW’s core values—Obedience to God, Walking in Integrity, Striving for Excellence, and Service to the World—should serve as guiding principles throughout the graduates’ personal and professional lives.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Research Dr. Rosa Delima, S.Kom., M.Kom., reported that the academic performance of this graduating cohort was highly encouraging. Among undergraduate graduates, 149 out of 163 students, or 91 percent, achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) above 3.00. Among postgraduate graduates, 81 percent earned a GPA above 3.50.
A total of 16 graduates received cum laude honors, including 12 undergraduate students and four postgraduate students.
Timely completion of studies also remained a key indicator of student success. Sixty-one percent of undergraduate graduates completed their studies within the expected timeframe, while the figure reached 82 percent among master’s degree graduates.
In addition to academic excellence, UKDW students continued to achieve recognition at both national and international levels. Students from the Faculty of Information Technology received international awards in competitions focused on Web3 and Artificial Intelligence (AI), while UKDW’s Ownafarm Team earned international recognition at the Mantle Global Hackathon 2025. Other students achieved notable accomplishments in research, taxation competitions, and national-level taekwondo championships.
Representing the graduating class, Alma Artamia from the Theology and Philosophy Program expressed gratitude for the educational journey shared by the graduates. She noted that UKDW had provided not only academic knowledge but also opportunities to develop character and integrity.
She emphasized that graduation marks the beginning of a new chapter rather than the conclusion of one.
“Today is not an ending, but the start of a new journey. We hope to carry forward the values we have received and translate them into meaningful contributions that benefit others,” she said.
Through the May 2026 graduation ceremony, UKDW once again reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who are academically accomplished, ethically grounded, adaptable to changing times, and prepared to contribute to both Indonesia and the global community.
