Each summer semester, EvH Bochum offers an interdisciplinary semester-long programme in English for exchange students of Social Work, Welfare, and Inclusion, as well as related areas: the International Semester Programme (ISP).
Contents
A blend of semester-long seminars, compact courses, and practical workshops, including visits to local and regional agencies and facilities of social work and health care, divided into three ‘modules’ or focus areas, as follows:
- Artistic Education and Media Competence (12 ECTS)
- Intercultural and International Social Work (12ECTS)
- Health, Disability, Diversity (6 ECTS)

Who Can Apply?
- Students of Social Work, Welfare, Diaconia, and related fields of study.
- Students from other disciplines may also apply if they can demonstrate a strong interest in the subject matter and a clear connection between the course and their major or academic goals.
- Applicants must have successfully completed at least the first year of their undergraduate studies.

Nomination and Application Process for UKDW Students
UKDW students interested in the International Study Programme must follow these steps for nomination and application:
Submit Your Application
Applications must be submitted to the UKDW International Office by September 23, 2025 at bit.ly/appOutboundUKDW.
Required Documents:
- Academic Transcript (latest official version in English)
- Motivation Letter / Personal Statement (1–2 pages)
- Proof of Language Proficiency at B1 or B2 level (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent certification)
- Letter of Recommendation (from an academic advisor, religious leader, or social organization)
- Recent Photo
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Copy of Passport
- Copy of Student ID Card
- Copy of National ID Card (KTP)
- Study Plan and Nomination Form
- COME IN UEM Scholarship Form (if applying for the scholarship)
Selection Process
- Internal Selection at UKDW
- After the application submission, UKDW will conduct an internal screening process.
- An interview at UKDW is scheduled for September 26, 2025.
- Selection by EvH Bochum and UEM
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo a selection process conducted by EvH Bochum and UEM.
- Candidates are usually interviewed via Zoom.
- Further details and updates regarding this stage will be communicated to the applicants.
- Final Decision
- The final selection results will be determined and officially communicated by EvH Bochum and UEM.
