UKDW and SMA Kristen 1 Surakarta Strengthen Cross-Level Education Collaboration
SURAKARTA – Duta Wacana (UKDW) has expanded its network of strategic partnerships with secondary schools, this time through a formal collaboration with SMA Kristen 1 Surakarta. The partnership was sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) at the school’s meeting hall on Monday, August 4, 2025.
The MoU was signed by UKDW Rector, Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., and SMA Kristen 1 Surakarta Principal, Kandhi Purnomo, S.Pd. The MoA, which outlines the implementation of the partnership, was signed by UKDW’s Head of Marketing, Veronica Tiara, S.Kom., M.M., CPS., and Guidance and Counseling Teacher, Bonifacio Yanuar Putra Andyantoro, S.Pd.
Under the agreement, both institutions committed to implementing a range of initiatives focused on education development and student character building. Key programs include Lecturers Teaching in Schools, Campus Visits, and Youth Mental Health Activities—initiatives designed to address the needs of today’s learners.
“We welcome this collaboration as it provides greater access to knowledge and opportunities for our students, while strengthening the bridge between secondary education and higher education,” said Principal Kandhi Purnomo.
The event also featured a joint discussion session on strengthening student character and exploring opportunities for sustainable educational programs. The atmosphere was marked by enthusiasm and a strong spirit of collaboration.
Rector Wiyatiningsih emphasized that the partnership reflects a shared vision of Christian-based education.
“We are very open to partnering with schools that share a spirit of service and a common vision in education. We believe this synergy will directly support student development and help build a stronger education ecosystem,” she said.
The collaboration underscores UKDW’s ongoing commitment to actively nurturing Indonesia’s younger generation—preparing them for a future that is meaningful, relevant, and competitive.
