Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta met with the Regional Government of Siau Tagulandang Biaro (Sitaro) Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, on Monday, March 17, 2025, to explore potential collaboration in education, research, and community service. The discussion took place at the Sitaro Regional Secretary’s Meeting Room.

The UKDW delegation, led by Rev. Dr. Wahju Satria Wibowo, Ph.D. (Vice Rector for Human Resource Capacity Building, Promotion, and Networking), included Rev. August Corneles Tamawiwy, MST (Faculty of Theology Lecturer), Veronica Tiara Kusuma, S.Kom., CPS (Head of Admissions and Promotion Office), and two staff members. They were warmly welcomed by Sitaro’s Deputy Regent, Heronimus Makainas, along with key government officials, including the Regional Secretary and assistants in government affairs and general administration.

During the meeting, Rev. Wahju introduced UKDW’s flagship programs and discussed opportunities for collaboration, particularly in higher education and professional development. UKDW also proposed initiatives to enhance the qualifications of civil servants (ASN) in Sitaro by offering further study opportunities at the university.

Deputy Regent Makainas expressed strong support for the proposed initiatives, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing regional development and improving community well-being.
