
FTI UKDW Explores Joint Research with NTHU Taiwan

Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) and National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) expressed their interest to start the partnership, especially in conducting joint research during the meeting on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Visiting UKDW on his second day in Yogyakarta was Prof. Jyun-Cheng Wang, a lecturer at NTHU’s Institute of Service Science, who is also the Director of Center for Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at College of Technology Management. During the visit on Wednesday morning, he was accompanied by his student, Raden Agoeng Bhimasta who is an alumnus of UKDW’s Faculty of Information Technology. Took place at the Office of International Affairs (OIA), the meeting was attended by Arida Susyetina, S.S., M.A. as the Director of OIA, Budi Susanto, S.Kom., M.T. as the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, and lecturers of Information System as well as Informatics Department, namely Halim Budi Santosa, S.Kom., M.B.A., M.T., Argo Wibowo, S.T., M.T., Maria Nila Anggia Rini, S.Kom M.T.I, Christina Deni Rumiarti, S.T., M.T.I., Umi Proboyekto, S.Kom., MLIS., L. Kuncoro Probo Saputra, S.T., M.Eng., and Erick Kurniawan, S.Kom., M.Kom.
The meeting was specifically arranged to explore the possibility of doing joint research. For this reason, the discussion was started with an introduction of each lecturer and their research interests. Prof. Wang shared about his research interests including Social Network, Online Community, Social Entrepreneurship, and Patent Analyst. Aside from joint research, this meeting also discussed the opportunity to pursue the Ph.D. program at NTHU. “If there any faculty members who have interest in studying in Taiwan, we will gladly welcome you, “ said Prof. Wang. UKDW hopes that this meeting will be the beginning of a fruitful partnership between the two universities. [drr]
