Joint Seminar on Global Leadership DWCU & Hanseo University

Duta Wacana Christian University (DWCU) and Hanseo University, South Korea held a Joint Seminar on Global Leadership on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. The seminar took place at Rev. Harun Seminar Room, and was officially oppened by Rev. Dr. Robert Setio, the Vice President for Human Resource Capacity Development and Partnerships of DWCU. Since 2016, DWCU and Hanseo University have been conducting joint program regularly to provide opportunity for students to learn about leadership and get international exposure. This time, twelve Hanseo students led by Prof. Won Kweon Jang and Prof. Oh-Hyeong Kwon participated in this program.
The first session of this seminar was presentation from DWCU students. The presenters from DWCU were Aubrey Cornelia Rosalind from Department of Architecture and Reginaldo Alvarez Dipholawa Pampang from Department of Accounting. Both of them participated in Hanseo GLobal Leadership Camp (GLC) that was held in Hanseo University from June 27 – July 3, 2018. In their presentation, they shared about their experience during Hanseo GLC. “Joining this program is an invaluable experience for us. It helps us to improve our communication skills and we can make friend with people from different countries,” said Reginaldo. “We joined Global Walk, in which we had to walk for twelve kilometers. It was hard, but I think that it was a good experience,” Aubrey added.
The second session was presentation from Hanseo students. The presentation was devided into two topics. The first topic was about Korean Culture and the second was about Leadership. They also shared about their experiance in Indonesia, including their favourite food from Indonesia and how they dealt with the different culture between Korea and Indonesia. Both presentation from DWCU and Hanseo students were followed by question and answer session. After the seminar ended, Hanseo students joined a campus tour led by student buddy of DWCU’s Office of International Affairs (OIA).
Hanseo students along with Prof. Jang and Prof. Kwon arrived in Yogyakarta on July 17, 2018. During their program in Indonesia, they participated in various activities, including field visit to Kulon Progo with DWCU’s Institute of Research and Community Service.
The partnership between DWCU and Hanseo University has oppened the opportunity for DWCU students to participate in international program in South Korea. Hanseo GLC is an annual program organized by Hanseo University to develope leadership skills and promote cultural exchange between students from different parts of the world.
