The Faculty of Theology at Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) in Yogyakarta held a\u00a0Research Poster Exhibition\u00a0at the Agape Atrium from March 11\u201313, 2026. The exhibition features a range of research plans and findings in the fields of\u00a0theology, church life, and society, conducted by faculty members and\u00a0graduate students\u00a0of the UKDW Faculty of Theology.<\/p>\n

Through this event, the Faculty of Theology provides an open academic space for\u00a0the academic community\u00a0to present and share research ideas in a visual and communicative format. The exhibition is also intended to strengthen the university\u2019s academic culture while encouraging\u00a0interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge.<\/p>\n

A total of\u00a033 research posters\u00a0are presented in the exhibition. Each poster summarizes a research project, including its background, theoretical framework, methodology, and key findings or proposed areas of study currently being developed.<\/p>\n

The exhibition highlights a wide range of engaging topics. One study examines\u00a0head coverings (veils)\u00a0as a form of control over women\u2019s bodies or, alternatively, as a reinforcement of identity, offering a reinterpretation of biblical texts within contemporary social contexts. Other research explores themes such as\u00a0the parenting of children with special needs,\u00a0life after death, and various issues related to the dynamics of church life and society.<\/p>\n

Several posters also address\u00a0contemporary social concerns, including\u00a0personal financial management,\u00a0trauma experienced by survivors of sexual violence, and\u00a0ecofeminist critiques of patriarchal dogma within church traditions.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, other studies focus on the\u00a0psychological and spiritual challenges\u00a0faced by people in today\u2019s society. These include discussions on\u00a0Christian perspectives of hope for peace amid rising depression among young people,\u00a0reflections on toxic masculinity, and theological perspectives on\u00a0human awareness of death.<\/p>\n

Through this diversity of topics, the poster exhibition demonstrates that theological scholarship extends beyond the study of texts or doctrines, engaging directly with real-world issues in society. In this way, theological research is expected to offer both reflective insights and practical contributions to the life of the church and the wider community.<\/p>\n

The Faculty of Theology at UKDW hopes that the Research Poster Exhibition will serve as a collaborative learning platform that enriches academic perspectives while strengthening interdisciplinary dialogue within the campus community. In the future, similar initiatives are expected to continue as part of efforts to cultivate an active research tradition that remains relevant to the evolving dynamics of society.<\/p>\n
