Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW), through its Office of Partnership and Public Relations (Biro IV), held an Internationalization Workshop on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Rev. Dr. Harun Hadiwijono Seminar Room. The workshop aimed to align perspectives and develop a more structured and sustainable approach to UKDW\u2019s internationalization efforts.<\/p>\n

In her opening remarks, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Research Dr. Rosa Delima emphasized that internationalization is a long-standing priority that now requires more focused and coordinated action. She noted the need for a clear roadmap and stronger cross-unit collaboration, as some faculties have already been running international programs independently.<\/p>\n

She also stressed that internationalization goes beyond hosting international students, encompassing outbound programs such as teaching, learning, and research activities abroad. With clear targets, the workshop is expected to produce concrete outcomes by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n

Vice Rector for Human Resource Development, Promotion, and Networking Rev. Wahju Satria Wibowo, Ph.D., echoed this message, highlighting the importance of follow-up at the faculty and study program levels. He underlined that international partnerships must move beyond MoU signings to deliver tangible results.<\/p>\n

The workshop featured Tyas Ikhsan Hikmawan, Ph.D., Head of the Subdirectorate for Cooperation and Internationalization at Universitas Gadjah Mada, who emphasized that internationalization is essential in today\u2019s global competition. He stressed the importance of prioritizing quality and impact through well-implemented collaborations aligned with academic activities, research, governance, and community engagement.<\/p>\n

Discussions covered challenges in attracting international students, building networks for new study programs, readiness for international accreditation, and opportunities for international grants such as the New Colombo Plan (NCP). The Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Information Technology also shared implementation experience and challenges in sustaining international partnerships.<\/p>\n

Through the workshop, UKDW reaffirmed its commitment to advancing impactful internationalization through strengthened academic programs, research, and sustainable global collaboration.<\/p>\n
