Universitas Kristen Duta Wcana (UKDW) Yogyakarta continues to introduce a range of innovations designed to prepare young people for the demands of a fast-evolving era. The university currently ranks among Indonesia\u2019s 107 Excellent Higher Education Institutions out of roughly 4,000 nationwide, and has been placed in the Main Cluster of the 2026 Academic Higher Education Classification.<\/p>\n

UKDW\u2019s commitment to advancing educational quality is also reflected in the development of its second campus and the Duta Wacana Hospital in Kapanewon Sedayu, Bantul Regency. These projects highlight the university\u2019s efforts to strengthen its capacity in education, healthcare, and research. UKDW is further expanding its global reach through international partnerships and is implementing a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program to formally recognize the professional experience of community members.<\/p>\n

These updates were delivered by UKDW Rector Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., during the university\u2019s undergraduate and postgraduate commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the UKDW Koinonia Auditorium.<\/p>\n

In her address, Dr. Wiyatiningsih congratulated the graduating class. \u201cCongratulations to all graduates. You have completed an important milestone in your lives and are ready to step into the next chapter. We are proud not only of your academic achievements but also of the tremendous potential you carry. You are the generation that will help write the next chapter of our nation\u2019s story,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She noted that Indonesia\u2019s Golden Vision 2045 will require strong, high-quality individuals. UKDW graduates, equipped with the university\u2019s core values, are expected to contribute meaningfully to that national goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe the Duta Wacana Core Values \u2014 Obedience to God, Walking in Integrity, Striving for Excellence, and Service to the World<\/em> \u2014 will serve as a compass guiding your steps beyond today,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

This commencement cycle saw 265 students graduate, consisting of 246 bachelor\u2019s degree recipients and 19 master\u2019s degree graduates.<\/p>\n

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Research, Dr. Rosa Delima, S.Kom., M.Kom., reported outstanding academic results among the graduating cohort. Ninety-three percent of undergraduate students achieved a GPA above 3.00, while 95 percent of postgraduate students earned a GPA above 3.5.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese numbers demonstrate the students\u2019 consistent performance and resilience throughout their studies, while affirming the quality of research within our postgraduate programs,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Josephine Nauli Simanjuntak, a graduate from the Theology program, expressed her gratitude to UKDW for providing an environment where students can grow both academically and personally. She said her experiences on and off campus have equipped her well for the journey ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have learned that success does not come from strength alone, but from the love that accompanies it. Let us continue our life\u2019s pilgrimage by sharing love, spreading kindness, and contributing to the world,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Through this commencement, UKDW reaffirmed its role as an institution committed not only to academic excellence but also to character formation and sustainable social impact.<\/p>\n
