Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta has once again earned national recognition. At the 2025 Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) Awards, UKDW was honored as the university with the Best PKM Coaching in Cluster IV.<\/p>\n

The Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa\u2014organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology\u2014aims to spark innovative student ideas that respond to scientific developments and societal needs. Through this program, students are encouraged to strengthen their creativity, research capabilities, and innovative skills to tackle challenges in various fields.<\/p>\n

The 2025 PKM Award serves as an acknowledgment of UKDW\u2019s strong commitment to mentoring, supporting, and developing student potential in research, creativity, and innovation.<\/p>\n

Dr. Parmonangan Manurung, S.T., M.T., IAI., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, Information, and Innovation, expressed his gratitude for the achievement, emphasizing that the award reflects the collective effort of the entire UKDW academic community\u2014particularly the PKM team and the student affairs office.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe support provided by the PKM coordinator, student affairs office, faculty advisors, and student staff has created a strong synergy that enables UKDW to consistently secure PKM funding,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

UKDW PKM Coordinator Drs. Jong Jek Siang, M.Sc., elaborated on the coaching process that led to this recognition. UKDW began participating in PKM in 2015 at the study program level, but it was not until 2018 that the university succeeded in having one proposal funded.<\/p>\n

Learning from that experience, UKDW recognized the need for institution-wide PKM management. In 2020, the university introduced policies to convert PKM activities into academic credits, established a reward system for students and faculty advisors, and launched intensive PKM workshops across all study programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuccess is not determined by the number of proposals submitted, but by their quality. Since 2020, UKDW has consistently had several proposals funded, with many advancing to PIMNAS across various categories. We thank Belmawa for this award. This achievement represents the culmination of UKDW\u2019s sustained dedication to PKM management and serves as motivation to continue improving,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Head of the Office of Student Affairs, Alumni, and Career Development, Mujiono, S.E., M.Sc., noted that active student participation in PKM provides opportunities to build a supportive peer environment and receive valuable feedback from teammates\u2014both within the university and from students of other institutions at PIMNAS. \u201cA positive peer environment plays a vital role in students\u2019 personal development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that PKM also serves as a platform for students to prepare themselves as academically and professionally competent members of society who can apply, develop, and disseminate knowledge, technology, and culture.<\/p>\n

This accomplishment demonstrates UKDW\u2019s ability to compete and contribute to the advancement of student creativity at the national level, particularly among private universities in Cluster IV.<\/p>\n

The achievement is further reinforced by UKDW\u2019s rise to a higher cluster for the 2026 PKM competition, reflecting continual improvements in the university\u2019s student coaching quality.<\/p>\n

UKDW reaffirms its commitment to excellence\u2014not only in academics but also in fostering student creativity, research, and innovation.<\/p>\n
