Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) reaffirmed its commitment to preparing globally competitive young talents through EduCareer Connect 2025.<\/strong> With the tagline your gateway to global education and careers, t<\/em>he event took place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at UKDW\u2019s Agape Atrium, and served as a bridge connecting academia, industry, and international institutions. Through this initiative, students gained direct access to information about advanced study opportunities and global career prospects.<\/p>\n

EduCareer Connect 2025 was a collaborative effort between UKDW\u2019s Office of Student Affairs, Alumni, and Career Development (Biro 2) and the Office of Partnerships and Public Relations Bureau (Biro 4). The event drew an enthusiastic response, attracting hundreds of attendees, including students and members of the public.<\/p>\n

In her opening remarks, UKDW Rector Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., emphasized that the event represented a strategic step in strengthening the university\u2019s network with industrial partners and global institutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event not only introduces study pathways and scholarship opportunities but also connects alumni and builds partnerships with industry. EduCareer Connect provides exceptional opportunities for both students and faculty to grow while fostering collaborations that create tangible benefits for society. The presence of our partners here is expected to reinforce UKDW\u2019s contribution to community development,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

The first talk session, titled \u201cEduGlobe Talk: Everything You Need to Know About Studying Overseas**,\u201d** featured two inspiring speakers: Nina Eifler from Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst<\/em>\u00a0 (DAAD) and Beatrice Dwi Putri Rustandi, an Informatics student from UKDW who participated in an international exchange program in Germany.<\/p>\n

Nina introduced DAAD as a non-profit organization representing German higher education institutions and supporting international academic exchange. She explained that DAAD offers not only scholarships but also short-term research grants, visiting professorships, and inter-university collaboration programs.<\/p>\n

She also discussed practical aspects of studying abroad\u2014from selecting universities and preparing scholarship applications to adapting to new academic systems and cultural environments, particularly in Germany.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Beatrice shared her experience participating in the International Study Programme (ISP) at Evangelische Hochschule Rheinland-Westfalen-Lippe (EvH Bochum), Germany. Beyond classroom learning, she actively joined social and cultural activities as part of the program. Through this experience, she gained deeper insights into German life and culture while also introducing Indonesian culture to local students.<\/p>\n

\u201cStudying abroad is not just about academics\u2014it\u2019s also about discovering yourself and understanding the world,\u201d Beatrice reflected.<\/p>\n

The second talk session, \u201cBeyond Borders: Building an International Career from Scratch**,\u201d** featured M. Bima Aoron Hafiz, Manager of the Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Yogyakarta, and Dr. Phil. Lucia Dwi Krisnawati, a lecturer at UKDW\u2019s Faculty of Information Technology.<\/p>\n

Bima explained that TEC Yogyakarta acts as a bridge between Indonesian students and educational institutions in Taiwan, facilitating numerous academic exchange programs between the two countries. He also highlighted the benefits of pursuing higher education in Taiwan\u2014ranging from high academic standards and multicultural exposure to post-graduation career opportunities.<\/p>\n

Dr. Lucia then shared her personal journey studying abroad, offering insights into building an international career, overcoming challenges of living overseas, and the importance of adaptability and cross-cultural communication.<\/p>\n

\u201cShow your skills and your ability to adapt. Confidence is the key to competing and thriving in the global market,\u201d Lucia emphasized.<\/p>\n

EduCareer Connect 2025 combined three main programs: a Job Fair, a Scholarship & Study Fair, and Internship & International Program Opportunities. Through this initiative, UKDW provided not only information but also tangible opportunities for students, alumni, and young people to shape a brighter future.<\/p>\n

By bringing together educational institutions, companies, scholarship providers, and partner organizations, the event aimed to inspire students to design their educational and career pathways early on\u2014while expanding global networks that will support their long-term success.<\/p>\n
