Pacitan<\/strong> \u2014 Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta is expanding its role in strengthening Indonesia\u2019s human capital by introducing its Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway and graduate programs to civil servants in Pacitan Regency, East Java.<\/p>\n

The initiative was presented at the Human Resources and Civil Service Agency (BKPSDM) of Pacitan on July 31, 2025, attended by more than 30 local government heads of division. It marks the continuation of UKDW\u2019s collaboration with the Pacitan government, following student community service programs last month that supported local SMEs, village digitalization, and public education campaigns.<\/p>\n

UKDW highlighted that RPL provides civil servants with an opportunity to leverage their professional and experiential learning for academic credit, shortening study duration while ensuring alignment with career needs. Programs are offered at the undergraduate level across fields including accounting, informatics, information systems, biology, English education, and architecture.<\/p>\n

\u201cRPL is particularly beneficial for government employees who want to upgrade their competencies while continuing to serve. UKDW is committed to providing not only quality education but also to supporting smarter, adaptive, and human-centered bureaucracy reform,\u201d said Veronica Tiara, S.Kom., M.M., CPS, UKDW\u2019s Head of Marketing.<\/p>\n

In addition to RPL, UKDW also introduced its master\u2019s programs in management and architecture, tailored for professionals in government and related sectors.<\/p>\n

The session featured presentations by Dr. Antonius Rachmat C., S.Kom., M.Cs., Head of UKDW\u2019s Center for Academic Innovation and RPL Program Coordinator, and Hugo Christ Prasetyo, S.M., from the promotion team.<\/p>\n

Pacitan\u2019s BKPSDM Head Rudi Haryanto, M.Pd., welcomed the initiative: \u201cWe are grateful for UKDW\u2019s presence here in Pacitan. These programs are highly beneficial, and we encourage our civil servants to pursue further studies at UKDW. Our cooperation with UKDW has been strong, and this will expand opportunities for our workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Indonesia\u2019s education sector under pressure to accelerate workforce readiness, UKDW\u2019s Pacitan initiative signals a stronger bridge between academia and government in shaping a qualified, future-ready bureaucracy.<\/p>\n
