Yogyakarta<\/strong> \u2014 Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) graduated 376 students at its commencement ceremony on Saturday, August 2, 2025, underscoring the university\u2019s continued commitment to academic excellence and character-based education.<\/p>\n

The event, held at the Koinonia Auditorium, marked the graduation of 326 undergraduate and 50 postgraduate students. According to Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Research Dr. Rosa Delima, S.Kom., M.Kom., academic performance this year was notably strong: 88.7% of undergraduates earned GPAs of 3.00 or higher, with more than half exceeding 3.50. For postgraduate programs, 84% achieved GPAs between 3.50 and 4.00.<\/p>\n

Rector Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T. congratulated the graduates, emphasizing that the milestone is both \u201cthe conclusion of academic study and the beginning of meaningful contributions to society.\u201d She noted that UKDW equips its graduates not only with academic knowledge but also with strong moral and spiritual foundations.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s commencement comes as UKDW strengthens its national and international profile. The university is among only 1<\/strong>07 institutions nationwide to earn an \u201cExcellent\u201d accreditation from Indonesia\u2019s National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), out of more than 4,000 universities. UKDW also consistently ranks among the Top 100 universities in Indonesia according to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.<\/p>\n

As part of its institutional development, UKDW is constructing a second campus in Sedayu, Bantul, which will include the Duta Wacana Hospital to support medical education and community health services. The university is also expanding international partnerships and advancing recognition of prior learning programs to integrate professional experience into academic pathways.<\/p>\n

One graduate, Resa Dandirwalu, who completed a doctoral program in theology, reflected on the journey: \u201cBeing a student is not just about completing assignments or passing exams. It is a process of self-formation \u2014 building intellectual foundations at the undergraduate level, and contributing through research and innovation at the postgraduate level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through its latest cohort of graduates, UKDW reaffirms its dual mission: fostering academic achievement while shaping graduates with integrity, resilience, and a commitment to service.<\/p>\n
