After a prolonged hiatus due to the pandemic, the Duta Voice Student Choir of Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta, PSM Duta Voice<\/em>, has made a triumphant return, securing Gold Medals in the Folklore<\/em> and Mixed Choir<\/em> categories at the prestigious 3rd Soegijapranata International Choir Competition. The event, held from November 14\u201317, 2024, featured 61 choirs from across Indonesia, making it one of the country\u2019s most distinguished choral showcases.<\/p>\n Led by conductor Romadan Nur Huda, the 37-member team\u2014comprising 29 UKDW students and alumni, along with 8 members of the Cantabile Chorale\u2014delivered performances that captivated the judges and audiences alike. Their victory not only marks a comeback after nearly four years but also underscores their dedication and resilience in the face of challenges.<\/p>\n In the Folklore<\/em> category, Duta Voice performed Cik Cik Periuk<\/em> (arranged by Bagus Utomo) and Rambadia<\/em> (arranged by M. Simbolon). The spirited renditions were enhanced by expressive choreography, bringing Indonesia\u2019s rich cultural heritage to life. In the Mixed Choir<\/em> category, their harmonious delivery of Ave Maria<\/em> (arranged by Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger), Exulta Filia Sion<\/em> (arranged by Raditya Daneswara), and I Love You<\/em> (arranged by Collin McCook) showcased both technical skill and emotional depth.<\/p>\n Preparations for the competition were rigorous, with nightly rehearsals held at UKDW\u2019s Lower Chapel, supported by the university\u2019s resources and moral encouragement.
