Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW)’s Architecture Department has achieved “Excellent” accreditation from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT). The accreditation, granted under Decree Number 5548\/SK\/BAN-PT\/Ak.KP\/S\/VIII\/2024, was announced on August 19, 2024. This notable achievement marks a significant milestone as the university begins the 2024\/2025 academic year and makes the Architecture Program the first at UKDW to receive this distinction.<\/span><\/p>\n Ar. Linda Octavia, S.T., M.T., IAI, Chair of the Architecture Department, attributed the success to the collective efforts of the academic community\u2014including faculty, staff, students, and alumni\u2014who have consistently upheld high standards in education and service.<\/p>\n \u201cThis accreditation underscores the high educational standards of our Architecture Program and motivates us to further enhance our teaching, research, and community engagement. We are deeply grateful for the support we\u2019ve received and hope this achievement inspires continued excellence and contribution to our nation,\u201d Octavia said.<\/p>\n Dr. Imelda Irmawati Damanik, S.T., M.A(UD), Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD) at UKDW, noted that this “Excellent” accreditation is the result of the Architecture Program’s long-standing commitment to quality. Following its previous “A” rating nearly two decades ago, the program has remained dedicated to excellence in education and community service.<\/p>\n \u201cThis milestone encourages other FAD programs, such as the Master\u2019s in Architecture and the Bachelor\u2019s in Product Design, to emulate the success of our Architecture Program\u2019s effective implementation of the Tri Dharma,\u201d Damanik stated.<\/p>\n She also highlighted that this accreditation positions FAD UKDW to launch the Professional Architect Education Program (PPAr), aimed at promoting lifelong learning in architecture through pathways like the 4+1 (Bachelor\u2019s plus Professional Architect) and 4+2 (Bachelor\u2019s plus Master\u2019s) programs.<\/p>\n \u201cThe ‘Excellent’ accreditation is a driving force for advancing the quality of Architecture and Design education, addressing academic and societal challenges, and preparing for future demands,\u201d Damanik concluded.
