The Taekwondo Student Club of Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta continues to demonstrate outstanding performance and achievements, consistently bringing home medals from every competition they enter.<\/span><\/p>\n Recently, two UKDW students, members of the Taekwondo Club, achieved significant success at the national level. Competing in the Palagan Open 3 Taekwondo Championship 2024, held at the Wujil Pandanaran Sports Hall in Semarang on May 31-June 1, 2024, the UKDW Taekwondo Team secured one gold medal and one silver medal.<\/p>\n At this national championship, organized by the Central Java Taekwondo Indonesia Regional Board, Bintang Holy Junior, a Divinity Study major, won a gold medal in the Senior Male Poomsae class. Meanwhile, Steven Michael Arbyanto, also a Divinity Study major, won a silver medal in the same class.<\/p>\n “As a native of Semarang, this experience has special meaning for me, competing in my hometown, the City of Lumpia. The Palagan Taekwondo Championship marked my victory this time. I could proudly show my winning medal to my family and prove to myself that I deserved to be a champion. I am grateful to UKDW for always supporting its athletes to become champions,” said Bintang.<\/p>\n This championship marks the third competition the UKDW Taekwondo Team has participated in within Central Java, having previously competed in two championships in Magelang.
