AIESEC UPNVY joined hand with the Office of International Affairs (OIA) UKDW to organize the event. The talk show was the peak event of AIESEC Global Volunteer Winter Fairs at UKDW. The fairs consists of Open Booth on October 22-25, 2018 at Didaktos Building and Class to Class Presentation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Invited to speak in the talk show were three students who have joined AIESEC Global Volunteer Program, namely Sam Lie, Meryana Rizki A., and Valentina Asri R. The talk show was officially opened by Arida Susyetina, S.S., M.A. as the Director of the Office of Partnerships and Public Relations. In her opening remark, she said that the university is very supportive and encourages students to join international program. Thus, student should not worry about the permission. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To start the talk show, an introduction of AIESEC delivered by the representative of AIESEC UPNVY. AIESEC was established in 1948 after World War II, where seven youth across seven countries had a dream of building cross-cultural understanding across nations. They hoped to change the world, one person and one internship at a time. AIESEC \u00a0believes that youth are the key to shaping a better future. Through each and every experience provided, AIESEC strives to develop youth leaders with these following qualities: ability to empower others, solution oriented, world citizen, and self aware. Currently, AIESEC has more than 38.000 members in more than 120 countries and territories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Following the introduction of AIESEC, Sam Lie, a student of UKDW majoring in Accounting who participate in Global Volunteer in 2016 shared her experience. \u201cYou will never know your limit until you push yourself to them is my favourite quote,\u201d she began. She then explained about her project in Thailand. \u201cThe project was called Sawasdee. It is a six-week program in Ang Thong, a province in Thailand,\u201d she said. Her role in this project was to provide cross-cultural English education for the youth in the rural area of Thailand. Friends, networks, and experiences are three things she got by joining this program. Moreover, after joining AIESEC program, she also got the opportunity to joint student exchange program for two semester in Kyungnam University, South Korea. \u201cAfter participating in international program, I become more open-minded,\u201d she concluded her session.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next, in the group space session, the participants were divided into two groups based on destination countries. They can choose Europe or Asia. Meryana who joined the program in Hongaria would shared her experience with group Europe, while Valentina who participate in the program in India would join group Asia. In this session, they can discuss about everything related to Global Volunteer Program, such as what should be prepared for the program, the topic of the project, program cost, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The last session was explanation of application process. Participants are welcomed to call AIESEC UPNVY if the need information and assistance regarding AIESEC program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">UKDW hopes that this event will motivate students to come out of their comfort zone. UKDW believes that international experience will help its students to develop their skills and potentials to be able to compete globally as professionals.
