UKDW Team Earns 2026 PKM-GFT Incentive for Blockchain-Based Poverty Alleviation Proposal
Students from Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) have achieved another notable accomplishment after receiving a 2026 Student Creativity Program (PKM) Incentive in the Written Futuristic Ideas (GFT) category from the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs under Indonesia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
The interdisciplinary team, consisting of Management student Meingly Septiningsih and Information Systems students Cristiana Savitri, Bernadeth Tania Jadiva, and Enrico Lanang Talentino, developed an innovative proposal titled National Human Potential Cloud (N-HPC): A Blockchain Architecture for Social Data Transformation and the Democratization of Capital Access Toward a Poverty-Free Indonesia 2045.
Through the proposal, the team offers a poverty alleviation solution that leverages blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the accuracy of social data and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.
The N-HPC concept was inspired by the team’s concern over the persistent challenges Indonesia faces in its efforts to reduce poverty. Despite continued economic growth, issues such as poorly targeted social assistance, fragmented data systems across government agencies, and limited access to productive financing for low-income communities remain significant obstacles.
According to team leader Meingly Septiningsih, existing systems still struggle with data integration, transparency, and accountability in the distribution of social assistance.
“Through N-HPC, we envision a future system capable of integrating Indonesia’s socio-economic data in a more transparent, accurate, and secure manner. Blockchain technology serves as the foundation for creating a more accountable system while reducing the potential for data manipulation,” she said.
The proposed system is designed to operate even in remote areas through the support of low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellite technology and solar-powered energy infrastructure.
The team’s faculty advisor, Drs. Jong Jek Siang, M.Sc., praised the students’ achievement.
Meingly added that the team’s success in securing the 2026 PKM-GFT Incentive was the result of strong teamwork and continuous guidance from their faculty advisor throughout the proposal development process.
UKDW Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni Relations, Information, and Innovation, Dr. Parmonangan Manurung, S.T., M.T., IAI., also congratulated the team on its achievement.
“Congratulations to the faculty advisor and the entire team for successfully earning a PKM Incentive through a project that addresses issues highly relevant to current developments and social challenges in society,” he said.
UKDW PKM Coordinator Servatia Mayang Setyowati, S.Pd., M.Sc., noted that the achievement reflects the students’ learning process, collaborative spirit, and ability to develop ideas that respond to real societal needs. She expressed hope that the accomplishment would inspire other students to continue innovating and striving for excellence.
This achievement demonstrates UKDW’s commitment to encouraging students to develop innovative ideas that are not only academically strong but also capable of contributing to solutions for national challenges. Through their success in the 2026 PKM-GFT program, UKDW students have shown that creativity, social awareness, and technological innovation can work hand in hand to help shape a better future for Indonesia.
