Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta successfully hosted the 2024 Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Daerah (POMDA) for the Badan Pembina Olahraga Mahasiswa (BAPOMI) DIY in the table tennis category. The event took place on December 2-3, 2024, at the UKDW Samapta Sports Hall, with participants from 17 universities across DIY. The competition featured three categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, and men’s doubles.
Wahyu Sapto Dewonugroho, S.Kom., the event organizer, explained that POMDA serves as a selection event for the Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Nasional (POMNAS), held biennially. POMNAS is a nationwide student sports competition organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs in partnership with BAPOMI.
“BAPOMI collaborates with universities to organize sports tournaments, and this year, UKDW had the opportunity to host the POMDA for table tennis. In this tournament, UKDW sent 7 participants: two teams in the men’s doubles, two individuals in the men’s singles, and one participant in the women’s singles,” he stated.
The winners of the 2024 POMDA Table Tennis BAPOMI DIY are as follows:
Men’s Doubles:
1st Place: Varian Jan Nico & Ferlin Dwi N (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta)
2nd Place: Khoiri Arif H. & Naufal Nafi R. (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta)
3rd Place (tied): Achmad Mahfud Zaini & Muh. Nabil Muwafaq (Universitas Gadjah Mada) and Allam Akbar P. & Agung Syaifullah (UIN Sunan Kalijaga)
Men’s Singles:
1st Place: Khoiri Arif H. (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta)
2nd Place: Varian Jan Nico (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta)
3rd Place (tied): Achmad Mahfud (Universitas Gadjah Mada) and Achmad Zaini (Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta)
Women’s Singles:
1st Place: Aretha Dalia S. (Universitas Terbuka)
2nd Place: Zafira Etta Syifa (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta)
3rd Place (tied): Syakila Deby Agista (Universitas Islam Indonesia) and Dyna Rizmadani Y (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta)
