Fransisca Victory Kusumaningrum majorin gin Biology and Michaella Ivanna majoring in Accounting at Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta have been awarded Djarum Beasiswa Plus scholarship by the Djarum Foundation.
The scholarship, renowned for its rigorous selection process, offers more than just financial aid. It provides a comprehensive development program designed to enhance recipients’ soft skills, including character building, leadership development, and nation-building. Additional opportunities such as community empowerment, international exposure, and an essay contest further enrich the experience, ensuring scholars are equipped with a balanced blend of academic achievements and personal growth.
The program’s goal is to cultivate future leaders—referred to as *Beswan Djarum*—who excel both intellectually and emotionally, contributing meaningfully to society.
For the 2023/2024 cycle, the program attracted 21,108 applicants from across Indonesia. Of these, 8,755 passed the initial administrative screening, 4,883 advanced to the written test, and just 516 were selected as recipients—a mere 2.4% acceptance rate.
