Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta has been awarded an “Excellent” rating in Cluster 3 for its performance in the Student Affairs Governance Information System (SIMKATMAWA). The evaluation, conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), assessed three key areas: the completeness of student affairs documentation, independent student activities, and participation in ministry-organized events.

UKDW’s “Excellent” designation comes from the assessment and verification of student affairs data for the 2022 and 2023 academic years. Universities are ranked into four clusters based on their number of active students in 2023: Cluster I (over 18,000 students), Cluster II (between 5,000 and 18,000 students), Cluster III (between 1,000 and 5,000 students), and Cluster IV (up to 1,000 students). UKDW is categorized in Cluster 3, with an active student body of 1,000 to 5,000 students.

Mujiono, S.E., M.Sc., Head of the UKDW Office of Student Affairs, Alumni, and Career Development, emphasized the importance of this achievement. “This recognition motivates our students to actively participate in a wide range of activities and competitions under the National Achievement Center (puspresnas),” he stated.

Several prestigious national competitions organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI) include the NUDC (National University Debating Championship), Gemastik (National Student Exhibition in Information and Communication Technology), PEKSIMIDA/PEKSIMINAS, PESPARAWI (Church Choir Festival), PILMAPRES (Outstanding Student Selection), ON MIPA, LIDM (Student Digital Innovation Competition), and KBGI (Indonesian Building Design Competition). These platforms provide opportunities for students to develop their skills and showcase their talents.

UKDW also supports various local and regional competitions in sports and the arts, which play a vital role in nurturing student talent.

“UKDW is deeply committed to fostering student talent and interests. We provide funding and facilities to support students in actively participating in competitions. Moreover, proper documentation and publication of these activities are crucial for reporting on the SIMKATMAWA platform. The more diverse the activities and the level of participation, the stronger UKDW’s reputation becomes,” Mujiono concluded. [humasukdw/trans.drr]
