YOGYAKARTA – Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta has solidified its commitment to enhancing Student Club Activity (UKM) by signing a Cooperation Agreement with the coaches of its Basketball, Taekwondo, and Duta Wacana Football Club units. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Rev. Dr. Rudy Budiman Lecture Hall.
In addition to the agreement, students also signed a commitment statement to actively participate in UKM activities.
Dr. Parmonangan Manurung, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, Information, and Innovation at UKDW, expressed his gratitude for the dedication shown in building professional teams within the Basketball, Taekwondo, and Football Club units. “We aim to provide excellent facilities to support training. While we are gradually improving these facilities, our current focus is on cultivating a strong culture. We hope other UKMs will also develop professional core teams,” Manurung stated.
Oleh, a Professional Basketball Coach, thanked UKDW for its trust, emphasizing the importance of such programs for fostering student commitment. He encouraged his team to enjoy the process while diligently working towards their goals.
Muhammad Afreadi Caesario, the Professional Taekwondo Coach, revealed that the Taekwondo team aims to compete in international championships this year. He hopes the team will train with greater enthusiasm and consistency, driven by a desire for growth.
Antonius Hanindro Probojati, the Professional Futsal Coach, reported notable progress in the UKDW futsal team. He stressed the need for player commitment and university support to sustain and enhance their performance. [humasukdw/trans.drr]
