The recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Kriaten Duta Wacana (UKDW) and Andi Offset Publisher marks a pivotal milestone in bolstering collaboration between these esteemed entities. The MoU ceremony unfolded on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Didaktos Seminar Room. Dr.-Ing. Of notable focus is the joint initiative aimed at fostering collaborative book publishing endeavors for UKDW’s faculty members. This initiative is strategically aligned with advancing academic and research pursuits within the university ecosystem, heralding the prospect of a synergistic partnership between UKDW and Andi Offset Publisher.

Concurrently, UKDW’s Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) organized a Workshop on Writing ISBN Textbooks, drawing enthusiastic participation from UKDW’s faculty members. Dr. Freddy Marihot Rotua Nainggolan, S.T., M.T., IAI., the Head of LPPM UKDW, articulated the workshop’s goal amidst the dynamic educational landscape. “In an era marked by continuous evolution in education, the imperative for high-caliber textbooks cannot be overstated as they serve as foundational pillars in fostering effective teaching and learning practices. This workshop serves as a catalyst in honing authors’ expertise, equipping them with the essential tools to craft top-tier textbooks that adhere to stringent ISBN (International Standard Book Number) publication standards. Our aim is to illuminate the latest insights and methodologies spanning the spectrum of textbook creation—from conceptualization and drafting to eventual publication and ISBN allocation,” remarked Dr. Nainggolan.

Distinguished speakers from Andi Offset Publisher, including Agustinus Subardana, S.E., M.M.; Dwinita Andriastuti; and Ign. Eko Agus Wibowo, actively engaged UKDW’s faculty members in a comprehensive exploration of the book-writing journey, from conceptualization through to the final stages of publication. This immersive experience is anticipated to catalyze faculty members’ capacity to produce scholarly works of exceptional quality. The collaborative pursuit of book publishing for UKDW’s faculty signifies a resolute stride towards augmenting the caliber of higher education. With the anticipated creation of ISBN-endowed textbooks through this fruitful alliance, a substantial contribution is envisaged towards fortifying human capital within the academic realm.
