RoboPark serves as a hub for research, innovation, and learning in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to produce cutting-edge products and highly competitive innovators. The robot exhibition brings together robotics enthusiasts from across Asia, showcasing the hard work and creativity of inventors in developing advanced robots. This event highlights the vital role of robotics in bridging human interaction with technology and driving societal innovation.
Gloria Virginia, S.Kom., MAI., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Finance, Human Resources, and Infrastructure of the Faculty of Information Technology at Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta, explained that the Exhibition & Workshop: ROBOPARK – Say Hi to Autobots is part of the Informatics Anniversary Awards. These events are being held in conjunction with the 37th anniversary of the Informatics Department at UKDW. The activity, scheduled for November 24-26, 2023, at Sleman City Hall, is a collaborative effort between the UKDW Informatics Department and the Indonesia Artificial Intelligence Society (IAIS).
Traditionally held in Jakarta, RoboPark is being held in Yogyakarta at this time, featuring a diverse array of activities, including exhibitions, seminars, talk shows, and hands-on workshops focused on AI-based robotics. The exhibition showcases over ten interactive robots, including restaurant robots, dancing robots, autonomous cars, chess-playing robots, and DIY robots for school-aged children. In addition to professional robots, local robotics communities from Jogja will also participate, offering field trips for students to the exhibition from elementary to high school levels, aimed at familiarizing young people with autonomous robots in this student-centric city.
This event represents a tangible contribution from UKDW’s Informatic Department and IAIS towards achieving Indonesia’s goal of producing 9 million digital talents by 2030.
The workshop was led by Dr. (cand.) Yohanes Kurnia, S.T., M.M.S.I., CEO of PT. SARI Teknologi, along with his team of robotics experts from Korea (Robotis & On the Live). A talk show titled “Humanoid: How Far Away is It?” will feature Sonny Hastomo, S.Kom., founder of 3Dolphins.ai, and Dr. (cand.) Yohanes Kurnia. During the talk show, speakers presented AI-based robots, interacted with participants, and offered a Q&A session for deeper insights. The event also included the launch of a robot restaurant capable of mastering 200 types of cuisine and a chess robot competition, with the robot remaining unbeaten to date. Through these comprehensive activities, RoboPark not only fosters innovation and learning but also inspires the next generation of digital talent, contributing significantly to Indonesia’s technological advancement.
