Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta held its Undergraduate and Graduate Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, 2 December 2023, at the Koinonia Auditorium. During this period, UKDW conferred degrees upon 322 graduates, including 297 from the Undergraduate Program and 25 from the Graduate Program.
Dr. Rosa Delima, S.Kom., M.Kom., the Vice-Rector for Academic and Research of UKDW, noted that 13% of Bachelor Program graduates achieved the Cum Laude distinction, while 12% of Graduate Program received the same honor.
“I congratulate the departments that nurtured and shaped them, and extend my congratulations to all the graduates, especially those who received the Cum Laude distinction. A noteworthy 79% of graduates completed their studies within the expected timeframe or less, a result that brings great pride to the university,” remarked Dr. Rosa Delima.
In addition, Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., the Rector of UKDW, congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments. “Today, as you receive your degrees, you also embrace the values and vision that have guided you throughout your education at UKDW. Over the next twenty years, UKDW is committed to becoming SERU ‘Sustainable Entrepreneurial Research University.’ As part of this vision, you will become agents of change in the workforce, applying the knowledge and skills you have acquired during your studies to have a positive impact on society,” said Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih.
Upon graduating from UKDW, students are encouraged to continue their pursuit of sustainability, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence, embodying the university’s principles and contributing positively to society. “You are not just ambassadors of knowledge but also agents of change who uphold sustainability and entrepreneurship principles. Equipped with a diverse skill set, you are prepared to face global challenges and drive positive transformation,” added Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih.
Meanwhile, Simfony Sophie, representing the Information Systems Department, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology and UKDW for providing a Bidikmisi scholarship, enabling her to pursue higher education. “During my time here, I’ve made lifelong friends, experienced dormitory life at Omah Babadan, engaged with dynamic lecturers and staff, and participated in and succeeded in securing funding for the Student Creativity Program, which led my team to the 34th PIMNAS event. Our educational journey has been transformative, filled with valuable lessons, character development, skill enhancement, and lasting friendships,” she said.[humasukdw/Eng.bella_ed.drr]
