Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta celebrated the graduation of its undergraduate and graduate students on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Koinonia Auditorium of UKDW. A total of 228 students graduated during this ceremony, with 204 from the undergraduate program and 24 from the graduate program
Dr. Rosa Delima, S.Kom., M.Kom., the Vice-Rector for Academic and Research at UKDW Yogyakarta, highlighted that 13% of the Bachelor Program graduates achieved the title of “Cumlaude.” She also mentioned that according to study tracer results, 26.4% of UKDW graduates were employed before graduating, and the average time taken by UKDW alumni to secure employment was 1-3 months. Dr. Delima expressed pride in the outstanding quality of UKDW graduates, noting their ability to compete effectively on both national and global platforms.
Additionally, Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., the Rector of UKDW Yogyakarta, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to not only excel in their academic endeavors but also to contribute positively to building an inclusive and dignified society. She emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in navigating various political and social dynamics.
Dr. Wiyatiningsih further emphasized UKDW’s commitment to inclusivity and sustainability by mentioning its involvement in the construction of the Academic Hospital and Campus 2 in Sedayu. She stated that this commitment extends beyond physical infrastructure to actively contribute to community development and shared prosperity, aligning with UKDW’s SERU (Sustainable Entrepreneurial Research University) vision.
Loverisa Michelle Rachmadi, a representative of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Business, expressed pride in being part of UKDW, which has earned excellent accreditation. She thanked all campus stakeholders for their dedication and mentioned how UKDW’s environment fostered her communication and organizational skills. Loverisa highlighted the campus’s openness to new experiences, such as volunteering opportunities and international exchange programs, which enriched her learning journey and personal growth. She praised UKDW’s responsiveness in serving students and providing comprehensive learning experiences through curriculum offerings, self-development programs, and community engagement initiatives.
