Biro 3 UKDW Runs Job Readiness Program to Prepare Professional Graduates
Communication skills and personal branding are becoming increasingly critical in shaping career trajectories, especially as academic degrees are no longer the sole focus in today’s competitive job market. In the era of global competition, competencies, character, and practical skills play a more decisive role in determining professional success.
To address this shift, the Office of Student Affairs, Alumni, and Career Development (Biro 3) at Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta conducted a Job Readiness Training Program (P2KK) on Thursday, June 5, 2025. The event took place at the Rev. Dr. Harun Hadiwijono Seminar Room and aims to equip students with the tools they need to transition smoothly into the workforce.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Parmonangan Manurung, S.T., M.T., IAI, UKDW’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, Information, and Innovation, emphasized the importance of preparation beyond academics.
“Make the most of the P2KK program, because the workplace is vastly different from the classroom. Students must proactively prepare themselves so their capabilities are visible to employers. The goal is for everyone to showcase their potential and secure employment even before graduation,” he stated.
Mujiono, S.E., M.Sc., Head of Biro 3 UKDW, highlighted that P2KK is a collaborative initiative between Biro 3 UKDW and Kinobi Indonesia, designed to strengthen students’ career readiness—particularly in navigating recruitment processes in today’s digital landscape.
“In addition to P2KK, Biro 3 also oversees a range of soft skills development programs, such as the Student Self-Potential Development Program (P3DM), the Student Leadership and Management Training Program (P2KMM), and the Student Spirituality Development Program (P2SM), which has been rebranded as the Lentera Program in 2025. These initiatives are tailored to nurture students into well-rounded professionals,” he explained.
The program’s keynote speaker, Dila Paramita—Career Coach at Kinobi Indonesia—delivered a session on crafting ATS-friendly résumés, teaching participants how to build compelling CVs using UKDW’s career portal.
Beyond the CV workshop, the P2KK initiative will also offer sessions on LinkedIn personal branding, interview techniques, specialized skill development, and one-on-one career consultations. The program is set to run for approximately six to eight weeks. [humasukdw/trans.drr]
