As part of its commitment to expanding capacity and enhancing global competitiveness, Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) is developing Campus 2, which will feature the Duta Wacana Hospital in Sedayu, Bantul Regency. In addition to infrastructure development, UKDW is strengthening international partnerships, promoting global knowledge exchange, and implementing the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, which grants academic credit for professional experience. These initiatives were highlighted by UKDW Rector, Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., in her address at the Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement Ceremony, held at the Koinonia Auditorium on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

“UKDW has distinguished itself as one of Indonesia’s top 103 universities out of 3,352 institutions. We hope our graduates will continue to uphold the Duta Wacana Core Values—Obedience to God, Walking in Integrity, Striving for Excellence, and Service to the World—as guiding principles in their careers and lifelong contributions to society,” she said.

Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih congratulated the graduates on their achievements and encouraged them to become leaders, innovators, and sources of inspiration.

“We are incredibly proud of your success and believe you will serve as beacons of hope for the future. Move forward with confidence, embrace new challenges, and trust in God’s guidance,” she added.

This graduation period, UKDW awarded degrees to 161 students, comprising 152 undergraduate students and 9 graduate students. In her report, Dr. Rosa Delima, S.Kom., M.Kom., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Research, noted that 86% of undergraduate graduates earned a GPA between 3.0 and 4.0, while 78% of graduate students achieved a GPA between 3.5 and 4.0.

For many students, their time at UKDW was more than just an academic pursuit—it was a transformative experience. Christina Aprilia Herawati, an Architecture graduate, expressed her gratitude to UKDW for being her second home throughout her studies.

“I am truly grateful for the KIP Scholarship, which allowed me to pursue my education. It motivated me to work harder and grow both academically and personally. One day, I hope to pay it forward by helping others achieve their dreams, just as I have been supported,” she said.

She also extended her appreciation to the faculty and staff of the Faculty of Architecture and Design for their dedication and mentorship.

“Thanks to the unwavering support of my professors, I was able to complete this journey successfully. The knowledge and guidance they provided are invaluable assets that will help me navigate the challenges ahead,” she added. [humasukdw/trans.drr]
