Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) officially inaugurated its 2025/2026 Student Institutional (LK) and Student Organization (OK) leadership on Thursday, February 26, 2025, at the Koinonia Auditorium. The ceremony, streamed live on UKDW Yogyakarta’s YouTube channel, marked the beginning of a new leadership term, with a vision of driving positive change and fostering stronger collaboration among members.

The event was attended by key university officials, including Dr. Rosa Delima, S.Kom., M.Kom. In their remarks, Vice Rectors Dr. Rosa Delima and Dr. Parmonagan Manurung underscored the pivotal role of student leadership in shaping the university community and beyond. They emphasized that student organizations serve as more than just social hubs—they are platforms for developing leadership, creativity, and a strong sense of social responsibility. The speakers also commended the outgoing leadership for their contributions and encouraged the newly elected team to actively engage in advancing the university and society.

“Character development is a fundamental asset for success beyond university life. Academic excellence is important, but soft skills are just as essential. Student organizations provide invaluable opportunities to build these competencies,” said Dr. Parmonagan Manurung.

Ravael Kapugu, newly appointed Chair of the Student Representative Council, and Christoper Purba, elected President of the Student Executive Board, reaffirmed their commitment to leading with integrity, transformation, and adaptability in line with UKDW’s vision and mission.

“We will prioritize educational quality, community engagement, and student creativity. This is a significant responsibility, and we are ready to collaborate with all stakeholders,” they stated.

The new leadership aims to enhance student engagement, strengthen organizational impact, and drive meaningful change within the university and the wider community. [Ravael/trans.drr]
