Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta has further solidified its international ties with An Giang University (AGU) in Vietnam through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in early December. This partnership covers a range of strategic academic areas, including information technology, biotechnology, economics, tourism, and rural and urban development. With the MoU in place, both universities are committed to working together to improve education, research quality, and strengthen their global academic networks.
The agreement aims to facilitate various forms of collaboration, such as student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and the development of initiatives that contribute to advancing knowledge and technology. Additionally, both universities plan to host international seminars, scientific conferences, and share academic resources to enrich the learning experiences of all involved.
The UKDW delegation at the signing included Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., Rector of UKDW, Raden Bima Adi, M.Th, MA, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education and Humanities (FKHUM), and Ignatius Tri Endarto, M.A., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at FKHUM and Head of the English Education Program. Rector Wiyatiningsih expressed hope that this collaboration would expand the academic networks of both institutions and support the professional growth of faculty and students. She also highlighted the importance of international partnerships in strengthening the relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam, creating mutually beneficial research and educational opportunities.
In addition to the MoU signing, the UKDW delegation toured several facilities at An Giang University, including the library, to gain insights into AGU’s academic environment and support services. This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for future partnerships, further enhancing the role of both universities in advancing education and research across Southeast Asia.
