Paskah Enjel Laoli, an Accounting student at Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta, was awarded the title of Most Active “Renjani” (Tax Volunteer for the Nation) for 2024 by DJP DIY – the Directorate General of Taxes for the Special Region of Yogyakarta The award was presented by Mrs. Erna Sulistyowati, Head of the DJP DIY Regional Office on October 22, 2024, during a Coretax Simulator Training event organized by DJP DIY.
The Renjani program is an initiative by DJP that focuses on public tax education in collaboration with Tax Centers and educational institutions, where selected students and non-students serve as instructors. Renjani volunteers work closely with Tax Centers and local tax offices to provide educational outreach and advisory services to taxpayers and prospective taxpayers.
Paskah served as a tax assistant from 2023 to 2024, with assignments at KPP Pratama Sleman in 2023 and KPP Bantul in 2024. She also contributed her time at the UKDW Tax Center, driven by a strong interest in taxation.
“Being a tax volunteer has broadened my knowledge and hands-on experience in taxation and allowed me to connect with peers from other universities. During this time, I assisted individuals with tax return filings, both at tax offices and on campus, and visited schools to help teachers and staff with their tax documentation,” Paskah explained. “I’ve also participated in tax outreach events, organized tax seminars, and shared tax-related information on social media.”
In 2023, Paskah focused primarily on assisting individuals with their annual tax returns. “At KPP Sleman, I not only helped taxpayers file their returns but also assisted with e-FIN requests. I also joined the UKDW tax volunteer team in visiting schools to support teachers and staff with their filings,” she said.
In 2024, as part of the renamed Renjani program, her responsibilities expanded to include Business Development Services (BDS) support and the creation of tax-related content for social media. A new point system introduced this year allows volunteers to earn points for each activity, which determines their certification level.
“My main contributions this year have been assisting with tax returns, sharing information about tax regulations on social media, and organizing a tax seminar for the UKDW Tax Center. My points now total 24,525, qualifying me for a Gold Certificate of Achievement,” she shared.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Paskah thanked DJP for launching the tax volunteer program and providing students the opportunity to contribute. “I hope that more programs like this will be available for students and that Renjani volunteers will continue to receive further training in tax education,” she added.
Dra. Putriana Kristanti, MM., Akt, CA, Head of the UKDW Tax Center for 2024, commended Paskah and her team members, Viola Nextzita and Angelica Yohana Santika Lemmuela, for their dedication. “I am proud of Paskah and the team for their hard work, diligence, and enthusiasm in participating in both Tax Center and KPP activities.
