Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta hosted a family gathering on Saturday, October 18, 2024. The event was held as part of the celebration of Duta Wacana 62nd anniversary. Taking place at UKDW’s Agape Atrium, the gathering attracted around 500 participants, including faculty, staff, and their families. By 6:30 AM, the atrium was bustling with attendees eager to join a fun walk. The route covered key landmarks such as UKDW, Galeria Mall, Gramedia, McDonald’s Sudirman, SMAN 3 Yogyakarta, Telkom, DKT Hospital, and back to UKDW.
The event was officially opened with a prayer led by Rev. Wahju Satria Wibowo, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Human Resources Development, Promotion, and Networking. Following the prayer, UKDW Rector Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting the significance of the gathering as part of the university’s 62nd anniversary celebration.
“This is a special milestone for Duta Wacana, founded in 1962, and now celebrating its 62nd anniversary. I warmly welcome all the families present and thank you for supporting your loved ones who work here at Duta Wacana. I hope this family gathering helps us strengthen relationships and build closer connections between families. Happy 62nd anniversary to Duta Wacana,” she said.
After the fun walk, participants gathered at the Agape Atrium for a communal breakfast. The atmosphere reached its peak during the door prize raffle, featuring five grand prizes: a television, a bicycle, a washing machine, a smartphone, and a gold bar.
