Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) in Yogyakarta recently hosted a technical guidance session on reporting data related to the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) activities for private universities under the LLDIKTI Region V. The event took place on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the Lecture Hall Rev. Rudi Budiman, attracting representatives from 100 private universities.

In her opening remarks, UKDW Rector Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., expressed gratitude to LLDIKTI V for their collaboration on this initiative. She emphasized that the MBKM program offers significant opportunities for private universities to establish partnerships, expand their horizons, and provide students with avenues for intellectual exchange.

The MBKM program is an initiative launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture aimed at transforming the educational landscape in Indonesia. The term “Merdeka Belajar” (“Freedom to Learn) encapsulates the concept of providing students with the autonomy to design their learning experiences and engage in a variety of educational activities beyond traditional classroom settings.

“UKDW has implemented numerous MBKM-related programs, both government-initiated and independently, and student interest has been substantial. This positive response is vital for the program’s sustainability. We hope today’s training will effectively address any technical challenges, ensuring that there are no barriers to MBKM activities. We also look forward to enhanced collaboration among private universities within LLDIKTI V, as well as in other programs,” she stated.

Following her remarks, Taufiqurrahman, S.E., Head of the General Affairs Department at LLDIKTI V, noted that the training was designed to support the implementation of the MBKM program for 2024. He also extended his appreciation to UKDW for facilitating the event. [humasukdw/trans.drr]
