The Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports of Pacitan Regency has entered into a partnership with the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta to develop a tourism masterplan for the region. The cooperation agreement was signed on June 20, 2024, in the Didaktos Seminar Room at UKDW. During the same event, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between UKDW and the Pacitan Regency Government.
UKDW Rector, Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, S.T., M.T., expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting the potential for future partnerships with various UKDW faculties. “Thank you for trusting us to collaborate. We welcome the opportunity to work together on other activities in the future,” she said.
Turmudi, S.Sos., M.Si., Head of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports of Pacitan Regency, emphasized the critical role of tourism in boosting the local economy. “We are focused on developing tourism, and advancing related infrastructure and resources is essential. We cannot achieve this on our own, so we must collaborate. Thank you for the opportunity to collaborate,” he stated.
The event was attended by key representatives including the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, Information, and Innovation of UKDW, the Vice Rector for Human Resources Development, Promotion, and Networking of UKDW, the Dean and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD) at UKDW, the Secretary of LPPM UKDW, the Deputy Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations of UKDW, the Head of the Government and Cooperation Division of the Pacitan Regency, as well as the Deputy Head of Legal Aid of the Legal Division of the Pacitan Regency.
