Four student teams from Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta have successfully secured funding through the 2024 Entrepreneurial Student Development Program (P2MW) from the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), under the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).
UKDW consistently encourages its students to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus, fostering sustainable growth. The P2MW program is specifically designed to support student-run businesses with funding, mentorship, guidance, and coaching over 6-8 months.
Dr. Haryo Dimasto Kristiyanto, S.S., M.Sc., Head of the Centre of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Centrino) at UKDW, announced that the four successful teams comprise 17 students and 3 faculty members. The teams received funding in three categories: Abhinaya Team in the creative, arts, and culture industry; Adaptasi Team in tourism and trade services; Cha Gya Team in the food and beverage sector; and Maybemay Team in the creative, arts, and culture industry.
“It is a joyful moment for UKDW to see our entrepreneurial groups win the P2MW 2024 funding. We greatly appreciate this achievement, which is made possible by the support of mentoring lecturers, the Office of Student Affairs, Alumni and Career Development (Biro III), Centrino, and everyone involved in the successful proposal submissions,” said Dr. Haryo.
Dra. Agustini Dyah Respati, MBA, the Coordinator of the 2024 UKDW P2MW Team, expressed gratitude for the fruitful outcome of their efforts. “All groups participating in P2MW 2024 demonstrated remarkable creativity and innovation. The business ideas from UKDW students are truly exceptional. Each group developed their business plans under the guidance of their supervising lecturers, showcasing their persistence, commitment, and team solidarity. We are thankful to the dedicated lecturers who were always ready to provide guidance and facilitate coordination and communication. We hope these entrepreneurial groups will become role models for other UKDW students to develop their ventures. We also anticipate an increase in P2MW participants next year,” she stated.
Dr. Parmonangan Manurung, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, Information, and Innovation, congratulated the four UKDW teams that secured P2MW funding. “Congratulations to all the successful teams, and thank you to all mentors, Biro III, and Centrino for their support. We hope this achievement will continue to grow in the coming years. For the winning teams, this is an opportunity to develop your entrepreneurial ideas and creativity—make the most of it. For the unsuccessful, there is always another chance next year,” he concluded. [humasukdw/Eng.drr]
