A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta and SMA Kristen Indonesia Magelang were signed on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. This signing marks an important step in strengthening research, teaching, and community service cooperation.
Dr.-Ing. Wiyatiningsih, Rector of UKDW, welcomed the signing, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between educational institutions to enhance their respective qualities. She expressed hope that the cooperation would continue with programs designed for mutual progress.
Suad Minanto, S.Th., Headmaster of SMA Kristen Indonesia Magelang, highlighted the need to strengthen cooperation, noting the many activities already jointly organized by SMA Kristen Indonesia Magelang and UKDW Yogyakarta. He emphasized the importance of ongoing synergy and collaboration. “Thank you for the cooperation and facilities provided by UKDW all this time. Hopefully, this can continue with other programs like lecturers teaching, not only from the Faculty of Biotechnology but also from other departments. We also hope that UKDW can play a role in our spiritual development program,” he said.
Veronica Tiara Kusuma, S. Kom., Head of the Office of Admission and Promotion at UKDW, mentioned that in addition to the mini lab activities already taking place between SMA Kristen Indonesia and the Faculty of Biotechnology, UKDW has a new program to offer. This program involves lecturers from the English Language Education Department teaching in the classroom, adapting to the school’s curriculum, and a product design workshop where students can learn design alongside UKDW lecturers.
Tiara added that UKDW has several scholarship schemes for students who wish to pursue their studies at UKDW. These include UKDW Scholarships for outstanding students, KIP-Kuliah Scholarships (aligned with the Kemdikbud program), and Talenta Scholarships for students in need.
The signing of the MoU and MoA was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Human Resource Development, Promotion, and Partnerships; the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Humanities; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Promotion of the Faculty of Biotechnology; the Head of the Office of Partnerships and Public Relations at UKDW; the Vice-Head of SMA Kristen Indonesia Magelang; the Teacher of Advisory Counseling; and the Board of Administration of SMA Kristen Indonesia Magelang.
