Steven Michael Arbyanto, a student of Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) Yogyakarta and member of the Taekwondo Student Club, once again made UKDW proud by winning a gold medal in Indonesia Super Fighting 2023, a national-level taekwondo championship held on December 20-23, 2023, at Amongrogo Sports Hall Yogyakarta. Steven competed in the Senior Male Poomsae category.
Steven, who also serves as the President of the UKDW Taekwondo Club, said that the 2023 Indonesia Super Fighting Taekwondo Championship is organized by Pengda Taekwondo Indonesia (TI) DIJ in collaboration with Stanly Sport. “I feel honored to be able to represent UKDW and participate in this national event. It’s a challenge when you have to practice even during the holidays,” Steven said.
With an unwavering fighting spirit, the UKDW Taekwondo Club is gearing up for the challenges that lie ahead in future competitions.
Steven also said that after winning 1st place, he wasn’t satisfied quickly, and he would continue to practice more to prepare for the next championship. It proves the UKDW Taekwondo Club’s commitment to improving and becoming an enriching environment for outstanding athletes. [humasukdw/Eng.drr]
